Cape Elizabeth Paint for Preservation Auction

July 15, 2022 - July 17, 2022
Trundy Point | 24 Reef Road   Cape Elizabeth, Maine

One of Maine’s premier art auctions, Paint for Preservation 2022 features the work of 32 juried award-winning plein air artists who paint all weekend outdoors at locations chosen to highlight the stunning sea- and landscapes of Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Artists donate a portion of art sales to benefit the land conservation and stewardship programs of the Cape Elizabeth Land Trust (CELT).

This year I will be painting at Trundy Point, which is one the best undeveloped rocky headland habitats on the southern Maine coast. With five lighthouses in view, uncommon seabirds, and a quiet unspoiled location it is a true gem among the Cape Elizabeth Land Trust properties.

The Auction will be held at the home of the Schoch Family at Hidden Court overlooking Zeb Cove after a two-year online hiatus, this exciting annual event will feature the ever-entertaining auctioneer Kaja Veillieux, locally sourced foods catered by Bread & Butter Co., and live music by Cul de Sax. Smaller paintings by the participating artists may also be purchased as Mystery Boxes. To learn more and see samples of the artists’ work visit www.capelandtrust.org/paint.

The public is invited to watch the artists at work beginning on Friday, July 15 and throughout the weekend. A free map of locations, along with biographies the artists, will be available at many locations around town, as well as online at CELT’s website (www.capelandtrust.org/paint) and on our Facebook page.
