New Plein Air Work
In the tradition of oil sketches, these paintings were each made in one sitting. All but one are painted on Arches “Huile”, a 100% cotton paper with a unique sizing and oil barrier, making it entirely suitable for oil paint. They are mounted to 4ply cotton ragboard and 1/4″ cabinet grade plywood, then framed in a narrow wood float moulding. The painting “Great Island” is oil on raw linen primed with clear acrylic, allowing the color and texture of the fabric to become part of the image.
